Is there any way to turn off, or limit the features of chat?
I don't want my employees wasting their day chatting to each other all the time.

In the self-hosted version you can either turn off the Instant Messenger module for everyone or configure access permissions for chat this way - one group of users will have access to chat, the other group of users - won't. That can be done in the Control panel  as a total access block, "flexible limitations" are not supported. Please note that this access restriction is true for the instant messenger only, but not for the desktop app.

This cannot be performed in the cloud.
