1) Is there a way to disable Bitrix shortening long URLs for display in comments/conversations? If I post h11p://thisdomain.com/ThisIsALongURLThisIsALongURLThisIsALongURLThisIsALongURLThisIsALongURL, Bitrix shortens the display of the URL like "h11p://thisdomain.com/ThisIsA...hisIsALongURL". I understand most people would actually WANT this helpful behavior, but is there a way to disable this behavior?
2) As of a recent update, if I make a post containing a URL, like h11p://www.google.com, Bitrix is fetching content from the posted URL and posting a preview of the page, similar to how Facebook does it. Is there a way to disable this behavior? I don't want my client or the Bitrix server reaching out to the web whenever someone posts a URL in their comments.
Our organization would like to see (really needs) the following time tracking features:
1. When manually adding time to a task (open task, open time tracking tab, enter time), need to be able to change the date of the time entry. We have too many cases in which our consultants are rapidly changing back and forth from one responsibility to the other to expect them to pause the current task and switch to the new task and resume time tracking, so they have to be able to enter their time against a task sometimes as much as a week after the fact. In the image below, I want to be able to (a) change the date of the entry from 2/12 to 1/29, and (b) specify a date when entering a new time entry.
2. When creating a recurring task and/or task template, I'd like to be able to indicate time should be tracked (enable time tracking), and provide and convey time spent expectation so the task assignee can track their time against the task without having to turn on time tracking themself, and so I can give the assignee a sense of how long I think the task should take. I can do both with normal tasks. Why aren't these capabilities exposed to task templates and recurring tasks? Can this be changed?
Left: Secondary external monitor "2" with 1920*1200 resolution via USB3 external docking station VGA port
Right: Primary monitor "1" (actual laptop screen) set at 1920x1080 resolution but capable of 3200x1800 resolution. Set at 1920x1080 so I can see text in apps (like Bitrix Desktop) that ignore Windows scaling options (Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display -> "set a custom scaling level")
When I first open Bitrix Desktop app, then maximize the window, the window only shows the top information (cropped at the bottom of the window). The app seems to think my vertical resolution is much larger than it actually is, but gets the horizontal resolution correct. Screenshot showing problem attached as "initial-view-cropped-bottom.PNG"
When I click on any chat in the maximized window, the window only shows the bottom information (cropped at the top of the window). The app seems to think my vertical resolution is much larger than it actually is, but gets the horizontal resolution correct. Screenshot showing problem attached as "chat-view-cropped-top.png"
I've tried changing the resolution of the primary monitor to the recommended 3200x1800, but after doing so have the same problem, even after a reboot.
I've also tried uninstalling Bitrix Desktop app, then renaming C:\Users\(me)\AppData\Roaming\Bitrix to C:\Users\(me)\AppData\Roaming\Bitrix.old, then rebooting, then reinstalling the Bitrix Desktop app, but doing so didn't solve the problem.
Please help/advise! I can't do chat or view recent notifications via the app because of these problems. However, the app appears to be otherwise functional; I think there's a hardcoded resolution bug. Or a registry setting from previous versions. Or the app is using the wrong windows setting to set window size. Some similar issue.
I understand your post, but further evaluation reveals what you have suggested is not the problem.
I do not have the "and 1 hidden recipient" problem when I make a post in any of workgroups I tested in which I am a member for which the workgroup number is 130 or less in the URL: /workgroups/group/130/. I tested about 10 workgroups less than (or equal to) number 130 of which I am a member.
When I post in a workgroup with number 131 (/workgroups/group/130/) or greater, even though I am clearly a member of the workgroup, I see that my post appears to be directed at "and 1 hidden recipient". I tested about 10 workgroups greater than (or equal to) number 131 of which I am a member.
Even stranger, for my posts that *I* see (when logged in as me) as posted to "and 1 hidden recipient", SOME of the other users in the organization see my post was directed at the workgroup, and SOME users also see that the same post was posted to "and 1 hidden recipient" (like I am seeing).
Additionally, some workgroups contain more than two posts from 1 other user, and I see some of the users posts appear directed at "and 1 hidden recipient" and other posts from the same user in the same workgroup appear to have been directed at the workgroup as expected. It is NOT likely (it is NOT the case) users are directing some of their what I see as "and 1 hidden recipient" posts at users outside of the workgroup, and other messages just to the workgroup as expected.
Based on polling some of the users, the problem does not appear to be OS-specific nor browser-specific.
In my opinion, this appears to be a bug or misconfiguration as opposed to your suggestion that posts are being directed at users outside of the workgroup.
Would appreciate your continued efforts to troubleshoot this issue.
My organization has about 150 workgroups in our Bitrix environment.
Most of the time, when someone posts a Message/Conversation in one of the workgroups in which I am a member, I see, in my Activity Stream:
"John Smith -> 8976 Widget Inc Analysis".
I am able to click on the 8976 Widget Inc Analysis link from my Activity Stream and it takes me right into that workgroup. This is great and what I want.
However, often, I instead see in my Activity Stream:
"John Smith -> and 1 hidden recipient"
The "and 1 hidden recipient" is NOT a link, so I am left guessing which workgroup both John Smith and I are in in which he made the post.
I can not figure out why some messages/conversations show the linked workgroup, and some posts say "and 1 hidden recipient".
Why is "and 1 hidden recipient" happening? Optimally, this would never happen, and it would instead ALWAYS show the linked workgroup.
