TeamGantt is one of the more popular Gantt chart solutions on the market. In case you didn’t know, the Gantt chart is a wildly popular method of managing projects and tasks used by businesses and companies from all over the place - from car manufacturing to app development.
Some of the objectively good things about the Gantt charts include intuitively understandable visualization, ergonomics, low cost, and tracking progress simplicity.
You have probably heard of TeamGantt. It is a genuinely simple solution, with exceptionally intuitive navigation. Even if you have no previous knowledge of the Gantt chart concept, you can quickly grasp this concept once you start using TeamGantt.
However, TeamGantt is not without its flaws so that’s why so many people are looking for a TeamGantt alternative. Well, we might have one - it is a product called Bitrix24, and it’s a full-featured project management solution that features not only the Gantt chart but plenty of other great capabilities. Let’s take a closer look at both products in our TeamGantt review.
Using Bitrix24 as Free TeamGantt Alternative
If you are looking for a free TeamGantt alternative that doesn't have these limitations, Bitrix24 makes a good choice. Bitrix24 makes full use of the Gantt chart concept as it is integrated into all of the project management tools (basically, you can just switch to the Gantt chart mode any time you want).
You can view tasks and subtasks via the Gantt chart featuring parameters like:
- responsible person
- chronological relationships
Team Gantt is available exclusively in the cloud-based format. Once you have created a project, you can merge it nicely with another one and both projects will be displayed in one timeline. This product is nearly unmatched when it comes to visualizing the interdependencies. It enables users to allocate resources more reasonably and maximize the efficiency of the workflow.
You can use the color-coding feature to format the tasks and monitor the completion percentage of individual tasks. As soon as you leave a comment, it will be seen by all the project participants who are involved in this particular task. When you start a conversation thread, it will be saved in the project automatically.
Another great thing about Team Gantt is that this is a product that works right out of the box and does not feature a lengthy configuration meaning it can be used almost immediately after installation.
Here are some other Team Gantt advantages that we have been able to identify:
- Easy to add documents to the tasks
- Team members can communicate not only with the help of comments but in the chat box too
- Simple to understand and use for most people (even those who are not familiar with the Gantt chart concept at all)
- Task dependencies
- Drag & drop functionality
As for the price, Team Gantt is available at no cost if your team counts 3 or fewer users and if you are happy with the limited functionality. Paid plans start from $25 per month per user. New users are invited to a free 30-day trial period for each plan.
Team Gantt is a simple, elegant, and fairly inexpensive cloud project management solution. It's perfect for a small team, but it's not without disadvantages.
The main disadvantage of this solution is the lack of a budget option. The manager who uses TeamGantt will need to rely on some other apps to control the project expenses. Also, the customization capabilities of TeamGantt are quite limited, to say the least.
As for the TeamGantt pricing, the free plan is quite limited in its functionality (one project for three users only), and paid plans also limit you in terms of how many users/projects you can have. Unfortunately, you don’t get any team collaboration tools (sorry, no video calls, group chats, or social Intranet for you) - just comments.
Yes, you can attach files to tasks but there are no document management or file-sharing tools in TeamGantt. Time tracking and billing are also nowhere to be found inside this product. Third, the lack of native Android and iOS apps for TeamGantt is a huge omission as well.
Finally, there's no such thing as a self-hosted version meaning you can’t customize and integrate the product with other tools that you might be using.
Here are some of the most notable TeamGantt disadvantages that we have been able to identify:
- No free plan
- Limited customization
- No self-hosted edition
- No mobile app available
- No time tracking tools

This gives you a full picture of the project progress and helps to identify potential or existing delays. Once a task is created, it can still be modified directly from the table or Gantt chart. Here is a side-by-side comparison of the TeamGantt and Bitrix24 features:
